Insider Monkey posted an article on SeekingAlpha.com where they offered the virtues of ConEd, Kimberly Clark, Lockheed Martin, Phillip Morris and SCANA Corp. All high yielding "bedrock" stocks. As we are want to do, we ran them through our models and came up with the following.
Note that we have added some new things to our format:
1) underlining the Options expiration date of the "best" trade based on Days earning,
2) a summary list of stocks and the profile of their "best" trade data,
3) summary commentary prior to the analytic sheets featuring the trades we like best.
ED - Consolidated Edison, Inc - The near dated trade captures the dividend and provides a daily earning of 0.7%/day with a SSR of 2.5% for 7 business days! The RVI's are high to extreme, but the P/E's are mid range around 15 (these are the two common themes for nearly all the stocks looked at today).
KMB - Kimberly-Clark Corp - Although the near date is marginally better than the far date, if your paying fees go for the long date. The RVI's are high to extreme, but the P/E's are mid range around 15 (these are the two common themes for nearly all the stocks looked at today).
LMT - Lockheed Martin - The later date wins with a Days earning of 0.05% - and captures the dividend. The SSR is low at 1.9% for the 5+ weeks. LMT is the only one we listed today that is not heavy on the RVI side and in fact is at the very low end of its 52 week pricing.
PM - Phillip Morris - The later date wins by a long shot. We looked at this trade Monday and it has improved since then. The near and far date are nearly identical in Days earning but November is the overall winner. With a SSR of 2.2% and a comparative ration of 0.2. The RVI's are high to extreme, but the P/E's are mid range around 15 (these are the two common themes for nearly all the stocks looked at today).
SCG - SCANA Corp - Both trades capture the dividend, but the near date offers a Days earning of 0.06% versus 0.03% for the far date. The RVI's are high to extreme, but the P/E's are mid range around 15 (these are the two common themes for nearly all the stocks looked at today).

As with everything we post, we may or may not have the stock and/or strategy in place in any one of our portfolios or may add it at any time. We do not make any buy or sell recommendations. We provide basic analytical research, some short commentary of the results and encourage you to do your own through due diligence prior to any purchase or sale.
